When TLOU2 started doing Uncahrted-esque moments of car-rides and building hopping and things like that. The Uncharted series, created by video game developer Naughty Dog (with two titles developed by Bend Studio), features many characters. The series includes the video games Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, as well as a motion comic prequel, Uncharted: Eye of. The set-pieces helped distinguish it, but they are still too few and far between, and worst of all extremely formulaic. I suppose all games can be broken down to their implementation, but I think Naughty Dog do a meh job of disguising those factors. At some point I forget what the graphics are or what the story is and I just see "collision boxes, limited playing field, another spawn wave, Play Video Cutscene, Next level." Naughty Dog, bar Jak 2 and 3, have a history of making very narrow game-design, and at best that makes things arcadey and fun, but in their last 5 games I honestly started to feel the monotony when you reach the halfway point but then the game never changes up, it's the same whitebox moment to moment stuff you do from beginning to end. but the gameplay was the same, and you know what, the gameplay was never that great.

PS4 was like seeing that step up to cutting edge animation quality and graphics.

These games were impressive because of the characters and acting in the PS3 generation. I was getting burnt out on the formula by Uncharted 3. I'm glad they definitively ended it and it should stay that way. It's also a fairly moot since Naughty Dog likely won't be involved in the next Uncharted anyways dollars to donuts he wouldn't play the next naughty dog game no matter what it was, because haters don't want to see ND exercising their core strengths and raising the bar again and again. it will always be 'cinematic' because it'll have top tier visual fidelity, writing, acting, soundtrack, animation, direction, etc. that's why the genre is irrelevant to the angle of their grievance. Naughty Dog doesn't even make 'cinematic' games, they make action games, action games that put many other games' presentations to shame.
no naughty dog, you can only truly prove your worth by making an open world game, or an rpg, or an FPS, or a fighter, or a racer, or a Souls-like, or a platformer.!.
as if every other developer is heavy on experimentation and genre-hopping. as if most developers aren't doing just that. some are just overly threatened by certain developers continuing to pursue and push the limits of what they're exceptional at. Click to 's just low tier troll to say they don't like naughty dog's games.
